Ms. Rieken is an experienced litigator who has worked on both sides of the courtroom as both a prosecutor and a public defender, as well as serving as a part-time municipal judge for nine years. Although she is currently with the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office Child Welfare Division as an Assistant Public Defender, she started as an Assistant District Attorney with the Waller County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in Hempstead, Texas. She then accepted a position as an associate attorney in the employment law section of Matthews and Branscomb in San Antonio.  Ms. Rieken started her own firm in 2000 primarily practicing in criminal, juvenile, and family law, as well as CPS cases, prior to joining the DCPDO in 2012. She received her B.A. in Arts, Radio/Television/Film from the University of North Texas and her J.D. from the University of Houston.
