Ms. Garrett has been with Wylie ISD since 2007, where she acts in her capacity as the Federal Programs and Special Services Coordinator. Ms. Garrett has her B.S. in Education, Speech, and Business Administration from Southwest Texas State University and an M.A. in Education from the University of Texas in Edinburg. She is certified in mid-management administration, elementary speech, elementary self-contained, language and/or learning disabled, secondary speech, and secondary business administration. Ms. Garrett is also an instructor-substitute with ACT Houston at Dallas, a program dedicated to providing quality preparation for caring, committed individuals whose goal is to enter the teaching profession and attain standard certification as a classroom educator. She has spent her entire career within the public education system in Texas working to foster young minds. Within her capacity as an elementary teacher, curriculum facilitator, principal, and senior educational specialist, she has succeeded in her educational advocacy efforts.
